Project Background

The Peruvian customer operates as both a processor and trader, serving mining, port expansion and infrastructure projects in different regions of the country. Project sites are often located far from major cities, and any delay in supplying processed coils and strips can cause costly downtime on site. Their previous setup relied on a mix of standard slitting equipment and subcontracted processing, which was not flexible enough to support urgent project changes or last-minute specification adjustments.

They needed a versatile slitting line capable of handling 0.4–4.0 mm × 2000 mm coils in a single facility, strategically located near a logistics hub. The goal was to centralize processing, improve control over quality and lead time, and better serve project-based clients with fluctuating requirements.

Key Configuration & Parameters

We supplied the same 0.4–4.0 mm × 2000 mm, 200 m/min slitting platform as in Vietnam, but adapted the hydraulic and cooling systems for local altitude and temperature variations. The line is configured to handle a broad range of structural and general engineering grades.

Customer Benefits & Feedback

The line supports strip production for truck bodies, structural members and storage systems, reducing the risk of project delays caused by material bottlenecks. The customer reports stable capacity under different project loads and views this equipment as a backbone for serving mining and EPC clients in Peru, with improved control over both quality and delivery schedules.
