Project Background
The Egyptian customer supplies strips for building and structural applications in an area with high ambient temperatures and frequent dust storms. Their older slitting equipment, installed many years ago, was not designed with such harsh conditions in mind. Overheating of bearings and hydraulic components and contamination in electrical cabinets led to frequent shutdowns and challenging maintenance.

These unplanned stops were particularly painful on large construction projects with tight schedules. The company realized that upgrading to a line specifically engineered for hot, dusty environments was critical not only for daily productivity, but also for long-term reliability and lower maintenance costs.

Key Configuration & Parameters
Based on the 0.8–4.0×1600 mm, 120 m/min platform, we enhanced cooling and sealing for the hydraulic unit, control cabinet and key drive components. The line is engineered specifically to withstand long-term operation in high-temperature, dusty conditions.

The customer reports that the line runs stably even during peak summer, with bearing and hydraulic temperatures under control and consistent slitting accuracy and recoiling quality. Compared with their old slitting line, unplanned downtime and maintenance interventions have dropped significantly, giving them more confidence when committing to large structural projects.
